airBaltic signs SAS codeshare deal in Scandinavia



AirBaltic has concluded a codeshare agreement with Scandinavian Airlines.

The partnership will offer convenient connections between Latvia, Scandinavia and beyond.

Martin Gauss, chief executive of airBaltic: “We are very pleased with this strong cooperation.

“By expanding our partner network, we are offering more convenient travel options to our passengers.

“Already this summer season we are enabling passengers to choose from more than 300 destinations with one stop by using airBaltic partner 

airBaltic will put its code BT on flights connecting Riga and Alesund, Bergen, Stavanger, Tromso, Trondheim via such common gateways as Oslo and Copenhagen airport.

SAS will place its flight code SK on direct flights from Stockholm Arlanda, Copenhagen and Oslo airports and vice versa, ensuring transportation between Scandinavian capitals and Riga, as well as connecting traffic from SAS’s whole network and Riga via its three hubs.

Annelie Nässéen, executive vice president sales and marketing at SAS, added: “We see great benefit in this codeshare partnership agreement on a number of routes, providing better connections to and from Scandinavia with reciprocal frequent flyer benefits for our travellers.”

airBaltic serves over 70 destinations from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, offering the largest variety of destinations and convenient connections via Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, the CIS and the Middle East.
