One of the most important athletic and cultural events in Attica, Athens Half Marathon 2019, is about to take place in Athens city centre, organised by SEGAS (Hellenic Athletics Federation) and the City of Athens, with the support of the Region of Attica. The 8th Athens Half Marathon will be held on Sunday 17 March 2019, starting and finishing at Syntagma Square, in front of the monumental building of the Greek Parliament.
Over 25,000 runners of all ages are expected to participate in this year’s event, while crowds of people will have the chance to enjoy this unique celebration in springtime Athens. On Sunday 17 March, the centre of the city transforms into… a running track full of smiling faces and good spirits, hosting a running race that is open for all, enhancing the notion of “togetherness”, companionship and entertainment.
Like every year, participants can run the race that suits them the best, choosing among the 21km Half Marathon Race, a 5km Road Race, a 3km Road Race, and a 1km Road Race for Children & People with disabilities.
The sport community’s favourite appointment, ATHENS Half Marathon EXPO, will once again… prepare the ground for Athens Half Marathon, taking placefrom 14 to 16 March 2019 at HELEXPO MAROUSSI exhibition centre. Visitors will have the opportunity to be the first to see, test and buy all new sport and running products, accessories and services related to nutrition, exercise and well being.
