This state-of-the-art lyric-style Rose Theatre, which seats 3,200, is set over three levels with advanced projection and riggings, orchestra pit and acoustic systems designed to attract world-class entertainers and performers, while also catering for international congress delegations.
Giving the OCEC a dynamic visual identity is the iconic design of its roof - a stunning architectural interpretation of the Sultan Qaboos Rose, a delicately beautiful yet hardy flower, named in honour of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said by the World Rose Society in 1990, in respect of, and gratitude for, His Majesty’s environmental endeavours, his support for human rights, and his contributions to the development of the Sultanate both on a regional and international level. Harmonising with its natural setting and reflecting the hues of Oman’s sea and sky, the petals of the rose will be clad with variegated blue glass mosaic tile, appropriately atop local Omani desert rose limestone in a beautiful white with pink overtones.
Designed to meet the demands of global conference organisers, is a 456 seat tiered Auditorium and 19 meeting rooms, conveniently located on the second floor and easily accessible from the Theatre and Grand Ballroom, which offer 25-360 seats and overlook luscious landscapes.
This versatile venue offers the flexibility to host both small and large meetings, seminars or gala banquets.
The Grand Ballroom offers a number of seating options; 2,688 in a theatre-style, 1,680 in a classroom-style, and 1,200 seats for a banquet setting. It can also be further subdivided into 3 or 6 individual meeting rooms using a system of acoustically rated operable walls.
The Junior Ballroom splits into two equal spaces to seat up to 1,026 in a theatre-style and 672 in a classroom-style. It can also accommodate 540 delegates in a banquet setting.
Providing more than 22,000 square metres of column-free space, the Exhibition Halls can be divided into five separate halls.
Halls 1 and 2 combined can seat up to 10,000 delegates in theatre style and act as a multi-purpose space for larger plenary sessions, concerts or performances. The individual halls offer a dedicated Registration Desk, Hospitality Suites and separate offices for both the Organiser and Event Manager.
