Jordan Tourism Board to Partner with Qantas Airways to support tourism and trade

The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) and Qantas Airways (Qantas) have committed to undertake joint promotional activities in Australia and Jordan to support tourism and trade between the two countries. The joint activities will include a series of tactical promotions using Qantas sales channels and industry partners in Australia and in Jordan. Opportunities for an Australian media delegation visit to Jordan are also being planned.
The Jordanian Minister of Tourism & Antiquities Mr Nayef AlFayez has used the opening of the Arabian Travel Mart (ATM) In Dubai last week to launch this important partnership: “Jordan and Australia share many similarities including friendly and welcoming citizens who ultimately will be the ambassadors for our combined efforts”.
Dr. Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat, Managing Director of JTB said: “The Australian market is one of the important and promising markets for Jordan, especially with regards to MICE, religious, History and culture tourism. This commitment is an important step in boosting tourism and trade between Australia and Jordan.”
The Director of the Jordan Tourism Board and the Jordanian Tourism Attaché in the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Yazan Al Khadir, added: “This commitment is the beginning of a strategic partnership with one of the biggest international airlines to increase awareness of Jordanian Tourism and to attract Australian tourists. Jordan has welcomed 20 thousand Australian tourists in 2015.
Qantas Regional General Manager for Middle East, Africa, India and South Asia, Rohan Garnett said Qantas was pleased to be working with JTB to strengthen the airline’s presence beyond the UAE.
“Australia and Jordan have enjoyed a warm relationship over many years, and as Australia’s national carrier, we are proud to work with JTB to take the relationship to another level.
“We look forward to working with JTB to further enhance tourism and trade opportunities between these two important markets,” said Mr Garnett.
Qantas operates 14 return services per week between Australia and Dubai with its flagship A380 aircraft. Onward connections to Jordan are available with oneworld partner Royal Jordanian and partner airline Emirates.
